1Password Pricing 2026: Teams, Business and Hidden Costs

1Password pricing in 2026: Individual $3.99 a month, Families $5.99 for five people, Teams Starter Pack $299.40 a year for 10, Business $8.99 per user, in USD.

1Password Pricing 2026: Teams, Business and Hidden Costs

1Password costs $3.99 a month for one person and $5.99 a month for a family of five, both billed yearly, with a first-year promotion of $2.99 and $4.49 for new customers. Companies pay $299.40 a year for the 10-member Teams Starter Pack or $8.99 per user a month on Business, billed yearly. There is no free plan, only a 14-day trial. All figures are US dollars, verified on 1Password's pricing pages in October 2026.

The regular price is the number to budget. The two promotional figures sit at the top of the personal page, but the small print restricts them to new customers who buy directly from 1Password, on annual billing, for the first year only. From year two the Individual plan renews at $3.99 and Families at $5.99, and the business page carries no promotion at all.

1Password plans and prices at a glance

Plan Who it fits Regular price (USD) First-year promotion Billing
Individual One person $3.99/mo billed yearly, or $4.99 billed monthly $2.99/mo, yearly, new customers only Monthly or yearly
Families Up to 5 people in one household $5.99/mo billed yearly, or $7.99 billed monthly $4.49/mo, yearly, new customers only Monthly or yearly
Teams Starter Pack A team of 10 to 20 people without an identity provider $24.95/mo for 10 members, billed yearly ($299.40/yr) None Yearly
Business Companies that need SSO, Watchtower alerts and vault permissions $8.99 per user/mo, billed yearly ($107.88 per user/yr) None Yearly
Enterprise Large rollouts that want provisioning, event streaming and a success manager Custom quote None Quote

The business page prints only yearly rates, so a company that wants month-to-month billing should ask 1Password before it budgets. The personal page has a monthly toggle, and it labels yearly billing as a saving of up to 40% against the monthly rate. Enterprise, Unified Access, Device Trust, SaaS Manager and Privileged Access all show "request a quote" and no number.

Toolradar data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, evaluated 37 password managers for its October 2026 password manager ranking. 1Password sits at number 3 on that list, and 4 of the 10 top picks have a free plan. 1Password is not one of them. Its profile is on Toolradar.

One person: the Individual plan, promotion first

Individual covers one user on every device, with password generation, autofill, secure sharing, credential alerts and the developer tools. A new customer who pays yearly gets the first 12 months at $2.99 a month, which is $35.88 for the year. The second year renews at the regular rate, $47.88 for 12 months.

Monthly billing costs $4.99, or $59.88 over a year, which is $12 more than the yearly rate and $24 more than the promotional first year. Monthly only makes sense for someone who expects to cancel within a few months, and even then the trial already covers the first 14 days at no charge.

The missing free plan is the main objection. Bitwarden's free plan stores unlimited passwords on unlimited devices at $0, and its Premium costs $19.80 a year. A solo user who wants a vault and nothing else pays $28.08 more for 1Password's regular yearly rate, and gets the Secret Key model, Watchtower and the cleaner apps in return. Whether that gap is worth it is covered in the 1Password review.

A household of five: Families at $5.99 a month

Families includes 5 users, unlimited shared vaults and admin controls for the organizer. At the regular rate of $5.99 a month billed yearly, the plan costs $71.88 a year, or $14.38 per person. The first-year promotion of $4.49 brings that to $53.88, or $10.78 per person.

The break-even against two Individual accounts comes fast. Two people on Individual pay $95.76 a year at the regular rate, which is $23.88 more than one Families plan. A couple should buy Families, not two Individual accounts, and a household of three, four or five gets the same plan for the same price.

Families stops at five included members. The personal page says you can invite up to 5 family members, and prints no price for a sixth seat, so a larger household needs to ask 1Password or compare the six-person plans in our cheapest password manager for families guide. Bitwarden Families covers six people for $47.88 a year, $24 less than 1Password at the regular rate for one more person.

Monthly billing on Families is $7.99, or $95.88 a year, so the yearly rate saves a household $24.

A team of 10 to 20: the Teams Starter Pack

The Teams Starter Pack is a flat bundle. It costs $24.95 a month billed yearly, which comes to the $299.40 printed on the page, and includes 10 members. The business page also prints the same price as $2.49 per user per month, which is the pack price divided by its 10 seats. Ten users is the minimum and 20 is the cap.

Seats 11 to 20 cost $4.99 per seat per month on annual billing, so each extra person adds $59.88 a year. A team of 15 pays the pack price plus 5 times $59.88, which is $598.80 a year. A team of 20 pays the pack plus 10 extra seats, which is $898.20 a year. The full pack is therefore $74.85 a month at its cap.

A team of 7 pays for 10, because the pack has no smaller size, so a seven-person team pays $42.77 a year per person instead of the $29.94 a ten-person team pays. At that size the per-seat arithmetic favors the pack over Business anyway, because seven Business seats cost $755.16 a year.

What the pack leaves out matters more than its price. It has no single sign-on, no identity-provider integration, no Watchtower alerts for admins and no role-based vault permissions. A team that already signs in through Okta, Entra ID, OneLogin or Duo cannot provision or deprovision users from that directory on the Starter Pack. For a security lead, that means offboarding by hand, which is the exact gap a password manager is supposed to close. The 1Password vs Bitwarden comparison walks through what that gap costs a SOC.

A company of 25 or 50: the Business plan

Business costs $8.99 per user per month on yearly billing, or $107.88 per user per year, with a one-user minimum. It adds everything the pack lacks: SSO and identity-provider integrations, Watchtower alerts, expanded role-based vault sharing and permissions, business administration and reporting, and developer tools for SSH key signing, Git commit signing, the CLI, SDKs and CI/CD integrations.

The invoice scales with headcount, so compute it before you sign:

Headcount Business cost per year Arithmetic Bitwarden Enterprise at $6 per user/mo
10 users $1,078.80 rate x 10 x 12 $720
25 users $2,697.00 rate x 25 x 12 $1,800
50 users $5,394.00 rate x 50 x 12 $3,600
100 users $10,788.00 rate x 100 x 12 $7,200

At 10 users, Business costs $779.40 a year more than the Starter Pack. The pack is the cheapest way to put 10 people on 1Password, and Business is the only way to connect them to an identity provider. Bitwarden Enterprise, which also lists SSO, costs $1,794 a year less than 1Password Business at 50 seats. Our password manager pricing index prices eight team plans at the same seat counts, and 1Password Business is its most expensive row.

Every Business user also gets a free Families plan for personal use. For a 25-person company that is 25 household plans worth $71.88 a year each at the regular rate, so the benefit is real if staff use it. The Starter Pack does not include it.

Guest accounts are included on Business for people who need access to a specific vault, such as a contractor, so not every outside collaborator is a $107.88 seat. The page does not print the guest limit, so confirm it with sales for a vendor-heavy environment.

Enterprise and the products with no public price

Enterprise is a custom quote. The business page describes it through its services: personalized training for rollouts of 101 or more users, a dedicated customer success manager, quarterly or annual business reviews and extended trial periods. It also mentions discounts for eligible organizations, including nonprofits and journalists, and customized volume-based pricing.

The product 1Password now leads with on its main pricing page is not the password manager. That page lists Unified Access, Enterprise Password Manager, SaaS Manager, Privileged Access and Device Trust, and every one of them says "pricing built for you" and sends the buyer to sales. Device health checks, SaaS discovery and time-bound admin privilege are therefore not in any number on this page. A security team that wants them should request the quote and treat the $8.99 Business seat as the floor, not the total.

What the 1Password price leaves out

  • The promotion ends after 12 months. The discounted Individual and Families rates apply to new customers who subscribe directly through 1Password.com, on annual billing, for the first year. Year two bills $3.99 and $5.99.
  • Monthly billing costs more. Individual at $4.99 and Families at $7.99 a month add $12 and $24 a year over the yearly rates. The business page prints no monthly rate at all.
  • The Starter Pack has a floor and a ceiling. Ten members minimum, 20 maximum, and seats 11 to 20 cost $4.99 each per month. Above 20 people the only route is Business.
  • No SSO below Business. Identity-provider integrations, Watchtower alerts and role-based permissions start with the Business seat. The pack does not have them at any price.
  • Enterprise features are quote-only. Provisioning, event streaming, Device Trust and Privileged Access carry no list price.
  • No free plan. Every tier offers a 14-day trial with no credit card, and then it bills.
  • Taxes. The printed prices are before tax. Add your local rate to every total above.

Which 1Password plan to buy

  • One person: Individual, on the promotional first-year rate if you are new, then the regular rate. Pay yearly.
  • A couple or a family of up to five: Families. It beats two Individual accounts by $23.88 a year at the regular rate.
  • A household of six or more: 1Password prints no price for that. Compare the six-person plans elsewhere before you buy.
  • A team of 10 to 20 with no identity provider: the Teams Starter Pack, at the flat yearly price plus $59.88 per extra seat.
  • A company with Okta, Entra ID, OneLogin or Duo: Business, at $107.88 per user a year. Price it against Bitwarden's business plans and the Keeper review first, because both cost less per seat.
  • A rollout above 100 users or one that needs Device Trust: request the Enterprise quote.
