Twingate Pricing 2026: Starter, Teams and Business Per User

Twingate pricing in 2026: Starter free for 5 users, Teams $5 and Business $10 per user a month billed yearly, Home $15 a month. User caps and team totals.

Twingate Pricing 2026: Starter, Teams and Business Per User

Twingate costs $0 on Starter for up to 5 users, $5 per user a month on Teams and $10 per user a month on Business, both billed yearly, as read on Twingate's pricing page on 19 October 2026. Home costs a flat $15 a month for up to 7 non-commercial users, and Enterprise is quoted. Business on monthly billing costs $12 per user.

User caps shape the bill as much as the seat price. Teams stops at 100 users and Business at 500, so a company that grows past either line has to move up a tier, not add seats. For a security lead replacing a legacy VPN, that makes Twingate cheap at 20 people and a real budget line at 200, where only Business fits.

Toolradar data: on Twingate's Toolradar profile, the software directory we run, Teams ranks sixth of 13 Identity and Access tools priced per user, against a peer median of $6 per user a month, as of October 2026. The entry seat sits just under that median, so Twingate is not the budget outlier of its category; its case rests on caps and features, not a rock-bottom price.

Twingate plans at a glance

Plan Price User cap Who it fits
Starter Free 5 users Personal projects and very small startups, commercial use allowed
Home $15 a month, flat 7 users Homelabs, non-commercial use only
Teams $5 per user a month, billed yearly 100 users Small companies retiring a legacy VPN
Business $10 per user a month, billed yearly; $12 billed monthly 500 users Growing teams that need IdP provisioning and device posture
Enterprise Custom, pay by invoice Custom Organizations that need privileged access, geoblocking and custom SLAs

Twingate labels yearly billing as 15% off on Teams and Business. Business's monthly rate is printed; for Teams on monthly terms, check the current price on Twingate's site at checkout, because the yearly figure is the one it displays.

What each plan adds

Starter covers the essentials: clients for macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android, peer-to-peer connections, split tunneling and conditional access controls. It allows commercial use, which makes it a real option for a five-person startup that only needs a few internal services reachable without a VPN concentrator.

Teams adds SSO through Google Workspace, SaaS application gating, native device posture checks, MFA for bastion hosts and SSH, and automated least privilege policies. The Google-only SSO is the detail to check: a company on Okta or Microsoft Entra ID cannot use its identity provider for sign-in until Business.

Business adds user provisioning from your IdP, SSO through Okta, Entra ID and others, device posture integrations with endpoint tools, secure service accounts for CI/CD and other unattended jobs, usage-based and just-in-time access policies, Exit Networks and DNS filtering as an add-on. For most security teams this is the plan that matches how access is already managed.

Enterprise adds custom account sizes, custom MSA and SLAs, invoicing, geoblocking, priority support and privileged access for Kubernetes, SSH, databases and web apps. Static IPs and additional support options are add-ons; Twingate does not print their prices.

Home: the non-commercial exception

Home is priced per account, not per user: a flat monthly fee covers up to 7 people and includes several Business-level features, such as secure service accounts, Exit Networks, native device posture checks and MFA for SSH. It is limited to non-commercial use, so it is not a loophole for a small company. For a homelab with a few family members, it costs $180 a year, our arithmetic.

What does a team pay for Twingate?

Team Plan Billing Yearly cost
5 users Starter Free $0
25 users Teams Yearly $1,500
25 users Business Yearly $3,000
25 users Business Monthly $3,600
100 users Teams Yearly $6,000
150 users Business (over the Teams cap) Yearly $18,000
400 users Business Yearly $48,000

Cyberpresso data: we built this table on 19 October 2026 from Twingate's printed per-user prices. Each row is users times the monthly seat price times 12. Add-ons such as DNS filtering and static IPs, taxes and Enterprise are excluded, because Twingate prints no price for them.

The jump between the 100-user and 150-user rows is the one to plan for. Adding 50 people past the Teams cap triples the bill, because every seat moves to Business, not only the new ones. A company at 80 users and hiring fast should price Business now rather than be forced into it mid-year. Similarly, a team that needs Okta sign-in pays the Business seat from the first user, whatever its size.

The monthly row shows what flexibility costs. Business on monthly terms adds $600 a year at 25 users against the yearly rate, which is cheap insurance for a team unsure it will keep the tool, and wasted money for one that has already decided.

Costs the seat price leaves out

  • Unpriced add-ons. DNS filtering on Business, and static IPs and extra support on Enterprise, are sold as add-ons with no published price. A team that needs a fixed egress IP for allowlisting at a SaaS vendor should get that line quoted before signing.
  • Service accounts. Machine access for CI/CD pipelines and scripts needs secure service accounts, which Teams does not list. A DevOps team that automates deployments through Twingate is effectively a Business customer.
  • Identity provider. Teams signs users in through Google Workspace only, so an Okta or Entra ID shop pays the Business seat for SSO alone, even with ten users.
  • Billing term. The 15% yearly discount is a commitment: seats bought for the year stay paid if the pilot stalls, so a team still piloting can start on monthly terms and switch once it is sure.

How Twingate compares with Tailscale

Tailscale is the usual alternative, and its pricing page lists Personal free for up to 6 users (non-commercial), Standard at $8 per user a month and Premium at $18, billed at the start of each month by seat count, read on 19 October 2026.

25 users, monthly billing Monthly seat Yearly cost, our arithmetic
Twingate Business $12 $3,600
Tailscale Standard $8 $2,400
Tailscale Premium $18 $5,400

On monthly terms, Tailscale Standard is the cheaper seat, and Twingate Business sits between Tailscale's two paid plans. Tailscale's pricing table prints one per-seat price, so a yearly comparison against Twingate's discounted rates needs a Tailscale quote. The free tiers differ in one way that matters to a business: Twingate Starter allows commercial use for 5 users, while Tailscale's Personal plan is for non-commercial use.

Feature fit usually decides it before price. Our Twingate vs Tailscale comparison covers the architecture, and Tailscale pricing breaks down its tagged-resource and seat rules. Teams still choosing between a ZTNA tool and a classic VPN can start from the best VPNs for small business, and identity buyers from Okta pricing.

Cyberpresso's daily brief tracks the remote-access vulnerabilities that make retiring a legacy VPN urgent; the signup is at the end of this page.

Pick Teams if you have under 100 users and sign in with Google Workspace. Pick Business if you use Okta or Entra ID, need service accounts for pipelines, or will pass 100 users within the year. Stay on Starter if five people cover everyone who needs internal access.

How we checked

Plan prices, user caps, billing discounts and features come from Twingate's pricing page, and the Tailscale figures from Tailscale's pricing page, both read on 19 October 2026 in US dollars. Yearly totals are our arithmetic on the printed per-user prices. The Toolradar figure comes from its Twingate profile. Twingate's plan lineup changes from time to time, so recheck the caps before budgeting.

Is Twingate free?

Yes, for up to 5 users. Twingate Starter costs nothing, allows commercial use and includes clients for all major operating systems, split tunneling and conditional access controls. A sixth user means moving to Teams or Business.

What is the user limit on Twingate Teams?

Teams allows up to 100 users and Business up to 500. A company that passes 100 users must move every seat to Business, so 150 users cost $18,000 a year on yearly billing, against $6,000 for 100 users on Teams.

No. Teams supports SSO through Google Workspace only. SSO through Okta, Microsoft Entra ID and other identity providers, plus user provisioning from the IdP, start on Business.

Is Twingate cheaper than Tailscale?

It depends on billing and plan. On monthly terms, 25 users cost $3,600 a year on Twingate Business against $2,400 on Tailscale Standard and $5,400 on Tailscale Premium. Tailscale prints one per-seat rate, so compare yearly terms with a quote from both vendors.
