1Password vs Keeper 2026: Price, Add-Ons and Business Plans

1Password vs Keeper in 2026: all-in plans against Keeper's paid add-ons, priced for one person, a family of five and teams of 10 and 25, checked October 2026.

1Password vs Keeper 2026: Price, Add-Ons and Business Plans

1Password is the better pick for most families and for teams that need single sign-on in one price: Families costs $5.99 a month billed yearly for 5 people with breach alerts included. Keeper is cheaper on the base plan for one person ($42.99 a year) and for small or mid-size teams, but dark web monitoring, extra storage and compliance reports are paid add-ons. Prices read on both vendors' pricing pages on 19 October 2026.

That split is the whole comparison. 1Password sells fewer plans with more inside them; Keeper sells a cheap core and a catalog of extras. Which costs less depends on how many of those extras you would buy, so the tables below price both ways for one person, a household of five, a 10-person team and a 25-person company.

Toolradar data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, tracks 37 password managers as of 19 October 2026, and 1Password is the most cross-shopped of them, listed as an alternative to 34 other tools. Keeper is listed as an alternative to 12 tools on its Toolradar profile, so buyers weighing these two are comparing the category's reference product with one of its closest challengers.

Two notes before the math. 1Password's lower personal prices are a first-year promotion for new customers buying directly, so the renewal is the regular rate, and this page compares regular rates. Keeper shows its personal plans as a monthly figure, but the charge is one yearly payment, which is why its prices appear here as annual totals.

What one person and a family actually pay

Every total below is our arithmetic on published prices, billed yearly, before tax.

Buyer 1Password, regular rate Keeper, base plan Keeper with BreachWatch Keeper with BreachWatch and 10GB storage
One person $47.88 $42.99 $69.98 $83.97
Family of five $71.88 $91.99 $145.98 Storage already included

For one person, Keeper is cheaper only if you skip the add-ons. The base plan undercuts 1Password Individual by about $5 a year, but adding BreachWatch puts Keeper roughly $22 above it. 1Password's Watchtower is not identical to a dark web monitor: it alerts on weak or reused passwords and breached websites rather than scanning for your identity data. For most people, though, it covers the same practical question of which passwords to change.

For a family, 1Password wins at every level. Families costs $20 a year less than Keeper Family before any add-on, and in its first promotional year a new household pays $53.88. Keeper's counterargument is storage: Keeper Family includes 10GB of encrypted file storage, while 1Password gives each member 1GB. A household that keeps scanned passports, deeds and insurance documents in the vault may value that more than the price gap. Our cheapest password manager for families page prices the wider field.

What a team actually pays

The business comparison turns on two seat rules. 1Password Teams Starter Pack is a flat yearly price for 10 members, with up to 10 extra seats at $4.99 per seat a month, so it stops at 20 users. Keeper Business Starter covers 5 to 10 users only. Above those sizes, both vendors charge per user.

Team 1Password Keeper base Keeper with BreachWatch Keeper with BreachWatch, ARAM and Compliance Reporting
10 users, small-team plan $299.40 (Teams Starter Pack) $240 (Business Starter) Not listed Not listed
10 users, standard plan $1,078.80 (Business) $480 (Business) $720 $960
25 users, without SSO No Starter option above 20 users $1,200 (Business) $1,800 $2,400
25 users, with SSO and SCIM $2,697 (Business) $1,800 (Enterprise) $2,400 $3,000

Yearly totals: users times the per-user rate times 12, with Keeper's add-ons at its published per-user rates of $24 a year for BreachWatch and $12 each for Advanced Reporting and Alerts (ARAM) and Compliance Reporting.

Keeper is cheaper for teams unless you buy every add-on. The fair comparison for a company that wants sign-in through Okta or Entra ID is 1Password Business against Keeper Enterprise, since Keeper reserves SSO, SCIM and AD/LDAP provisioning for Enterprise. At 25 users that gap is $897 a year before add-ons and $297 with BreachWatch. Only when a company buys all three Keeper add-ons does the bill pass 1Password Business, and then by $303.

The small-team row is closer than it looks. Keeper Business Starter saves $59.40 a year at 10 users, but it is capped at 10 and lists only the encrypted vault, admin console and credential sharing. 1Password's Starter Pack grows to 20 users without changing plans. Our Keeper pricing and 1Password pricing pages break down each vendor's tiers on their own.

Keeper's add-on menu, priced

Keeper's model only makes sense once you see the whole menu, because the base plan is the smallest part of many bills. These are the US list prices Keeper's pricing pages loaded on 19 October 2026, all billed yearly.

Add-on Personal or family price Business price
BreachWatch dark web monitoring $26.99 a year, or $53.99 for a family $24 per user a year
Secure file storage 10GB $13.99, 50GB $54.99, 100GB $109.99 a year 100GB $132, 1TB $540 a year
Advanced Reporting and Alerts (ARAM) Not offered $12 per user a year
Compliance Reporting Not offered $12 per user a year
Concierge setup service $137.99 a year Not listed

Two of these change the comparison more than the rest. Storage is where Keeper personal plans get expensive: a single user who wants 50GB pays more for the storage than for the password manager itself. And ARAM is Keeper's audit layer: real-time event monitoring, customizable reports and compliance-ready audit trails, a job 1Password Business covers with its built-in reports and SIEM event streaming. A buyer who will need both should price them on day one rather than at the first audit.

Keeper also sells privileged access management, secrets management and remote browser isolation as further add-ons on Business and Enterprise, priced through sales. 1Password sells its own extended access and SaaS management products separately too, so neither vendor's password manager price covers a full identity program.

Round 1: personal plans. 1Password, narrowly

The two personal plans cover the same basics: unlimited passwords, unlimited devices, autofill and secure sharing with people who do not use the product. 1Password adds Travel mode, which hides chosen vaults when you cross a border, and a Secret Key that works alongside your account password. Keeper lists 24/7 customer support on its personal plans and emergency access on Family. On price, Keeper's base plan is lower, but anyone who wants breach monitoring ends up paying more for it.

Round 2: families. 1Password

Both family plans cover 5 people. 1Password Families adds 5 guest accounts for sharing specific vaults, unlimited shared vaults and admin controls to recover a locked-out member. Keeper Family adds unlimited shared folders and records, the 10GB of storage and emergency access for estate planning, and its page says family members cannot open each other's vaults. 1Password is cheaper at the regular rate and much cheaper in the first year.

Round 3: small business. Keeper

Keeper Business at $4 per user a month includes shared team folders, delegated administration and a free Family plan for every user, a perk that turns a work subscription into household protection. 1Password Business costs more than twice that per user, and its extras over the Starter Pack are identity-provider integrations, finer vault permissions, Watchtower alerts and business reporting. A company that does not need SSO will usually pay less on Keeper, even with BreachWatch.

Round 4: enterprise controls. Keeper on price, 1Password on simplicity

Keeper Enterprise adds SCIM, AD/LDAP sync, SAML SSO, advanced two-factor options, role-based access control and developer APIs, then sells reporting, compliance, privileged access and secrets management as add-ons. 1Password Business bundles SSO, provisioning from Azure AD, Google Workspace, Okta, OneLogin, Rippling and JumpCloud, event streaming to SIEM tools and SOC 2 Type II certification into one per-user price. Keeper costs less; 1Password is easier to budget, because the quote does not grow with each compliance request.

Who should pick which

Pick 1Password if you are buying for yourself or a family and want breach alerts in the price, or if your company wants SSO, provisioning and SIEM streaming without add-on line items. Its first-year promotion makes it the cheapest family option of the two by a wide margin. See our 1Password review for the product itself.

Pick Keeper if you run a small or mid-size company that wants the lowest per-seat bill, if every employee would use the free Family plan, or if your household stores large files in its vault. Price the add-ons before you sign; our Keeper review covers the product in depth.

Consider Bitwarden if neither price works: our Bitwarden vs Keeper and 1Password vs Bitwarden comparisons cover the open-source option, Dashlane vs 1Password covers another all-in plan, and our best password managers and best password managers for families rankings cover the field.
