Surfshark Price 2026: Plans, Term and Renewal
Surfshark's two-year sale prices, full monthly rates and the renewal its pricing page leaves out, in euros as read on 12 October 2026.

Surfshark Starter and One each cost €67.23 for their first 27 months, which works out to €2.49 a month on the two-year plan. One+ costs €121.23 for the same 27 months. Those were the euro prices on Surfshark's pricing page on 12 October 2026. The page prints no renewal price, so the bill after month 27 is the figure to check before you pay.
Toolradar data: Toolradar tracks 36 VPN tools, and 94% of their prices were re-checked in the last 90 days, per its October 2026 update. A VPN price is only as current as its date, so check the date on any figure you read here.
The sale price by plan
| Plan | Shown rate | First 27 months | Old price, same 27 months | Full monthly rate | Renewal |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | €2.49/mo | €67.23 | €444.15 | €16.45/mo | Not printed |
| One | €2.49/mo | €67.23 | €511.65 | €18.95/mo | Not printed |
| One+ | €4.49/mo | €121.23 | €589.95 | €21.85/mo | Not printed |
Prices exclude VAT, which the page says may apply. The shown rate and the 27-month figure are sale prices on the two-year plan, which bills 24 months and adds three extra months. Dividing the crossed-out old price by 27 gives the full monthly rate in the table. The page does not print those rates in its text, so we derive them. Sale prices change, so treat these figures as dated.
What the 27 months include
Surfshark's FAQ says the two-year plan is billed once at the start and then annually after it expires. Monthly plans bill every month, and one-year plans bill every 12 months. The same FAQ says the longer the subscription, the less you pay each month.
For Starter, the sale saves €376.92 against the crossed-out price over 27 months, which the page labels as 85% off. That saving is real, but it covers only the window. What matters for a longer budget is what follows it.
The renewal is the number the page leaves out
After the first 27 months, Surfshark says you will be charged "the applicable renewal price", and the pricing page does not print one. The FAQ links that answer to the terms. The terms say subscription plans renew automatically at the full price, and that an introductory offer for the first term does not carry over. They also say renewal charges stay in the currency of your first payment, and that Surfshark emails you 30 days before the term ends, except for monthly plans.
Neither page prints a renewal amount. That leaves a budgeting choice. The FAQ says longer plans cost less per month, so a renewal year should cost less than twelve months at the full monthly rate. The page does not say how much less. So twelve months at the full rate is a ceiling, not a forecast.
A three-year ceiling
Over three years, the sale window covers the first 27 months. The renewal that starts at month 27 bills for a full year, even though part of that year falls after the three years, so a three-year buyer pays one in full. The ceiling is the sale-window price from the first table plus that renewal year at the full monthly rate.
| Plan | Renewal year at the full monthly rate | Three-year ceiling, sale window included | Three years at the full monthly rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | €197.40 | €264.63 | €592.20 |
| One | €227.40 | €294.63 | €682.20 |
| One+ | €262.20 | €383.43 | €786.60 |
Starter's ceiling is less than half of what the same three years cost at the full monthly rate. The ceiling assumes the renewal year is billed at the full monthly rate. The FAQ's logic suggests it will be billed lower, so the true three-year cost should sit between the sale window and this ceiling. The page does not print the renewal figure that would show where.
One and One+ cost more for what?
Over the 27-month window, One costs the same as Starter. The FAQ says One and One+ add extra products, including Antivirus and Alert, on top of the VPN. The plan cards also advertise identity theft coverage of up to $1M, available to US residents outside New York State.
One+ costs €54.00 more across the window than One, so check what it adds over One before you pay that difference. One's full monthly rate is also higher than Starter's, at €18.95 against €16.45. Do not assume the two plans renew at the same price. Starter buys the VPN alone. One buys the security extras for the same first bill, and it should be compared on renewal before you commit.
What monthly billing costs
The FAQ says longer plans cost less per month, so monthly billing is the full-rate option. The text we read prints no monthly plan price. The crossed-out price implies €16.45 a month, and at that rate Starter costs €197.40 over a year, nearly three times the sale price for 27 months on the two-year plan. A monthly plan suits a buyer who wants to stay under a year and keep the option to leave. The page lists a 30-day money-back guarantee on each of the three plans it shows. It prints no one-year price in its text, but its FAQ says one-year plans bill every 12 months.
Currency and tax
The pricing page shows prices in the currency it matches to the visitor's location. The page we read showed euros, and no US dollar price appears on the vendor pages this guide uses. This guide therefore keeps every price in euros and converts none. The identity theft cap is the only dollar figure here, quoted as the vendor prints it. Surfshark's terms say the charge may be processed in a different currency from the one shown, and that renewal charges stay in the currency of your first payment. The terms also add sales tax or VAT to renewal prices.
What to check before you pay
- The currency on the order page, since the charge can run in another currency from the one displayed.
- The renewal line on the order page, because the pricing page does not print one.
- The identity theft coverage terms, if you live in the US, since they exclude New York State residents.
- The renewal email, which arrives 30 days before the term ends on plans other than monthly.
Which term fits which buyer
A buyer who wants the lowest first bill and only needs the VPN should take Starter. It ties with One for the lowest 27-month price on the page and has the lowest full monthly rate of the three, so its renewal-year ceiling is the lowest too. A buyer who wants antivirus and Alert from the same first bill should look at One, but check its renewal on the order page before you pay, as with Starter. One+ suits buyers who need what it adds over One badly enough to pay €54.00 more across the window. A team that needs seats and admin controls is outside this comparison, and the small business VPN guide covers that case.
Whichever you pick, read the renewal before you pay, because the page leaves it out.
How we priced this
We read Surfshark's pricing page and its pricing terms on 12 October 2026. We recorded the euro prices as printed, with VAT excluded. The full monthly rates divide the crossed-out price by 27. The three-year ceiling uses one full renewal year at the full monthly rate. This guide covers price only, so speed, privacy and streaming sit outside it.

FAQ
How much does Surfshark cost in 2026?
Starter and One each cost €67.23 for their first 27 months on the two-year plan, or €2.49 a month. One+ costs €121.23 for the same 27 months, or €4.49 a month. Prices are in euros, exclude VAT, and were read on 12 October 2026.
Is Surfshark's price shown in US dollars?
Not on the vendor pages this guide uses. The pricing page shows euros to the visitor it matches, and its terms say the charge may run in another currency. This guide does not convert, so check the currency on the order page.
How much does Surfshark cost after the first 27 months?
Surfshark does not print a renewal price. Its terms say plans renew at the full price, not the introductory rate. Twelve months at the full monthly rate would cost €197.40 for Starter. Treat that as a ceiling, not a quote.
Is Surfshark a one-time payment?
Only for the first term. The two-year plan bills once at the start, then annually after it expires. Monthly plans bill every month, and one-year plans bill every 12 months.
Does Surfshark have a money-back guarantee?
Yes. The pricing page lists a 30-day money-back guarantee on each plan.
Is Starter cheaper than One?
Not over the first 27 months, since both cost the same sale price. One adds Antivirus and Alert. Its full monthly rate is higher, at €18.95 against €16.45, so do not assume the two renew at the same price.
